Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister, David Moinina Sengeh, has provided an update on the status of political prisoners submitted by the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) for release under Resolution 4 of the Tripartite Agreement.

On X, Sengeh clarified that out of 318 names submitted, only 15 are currently in custody.

He explained that the remaining names fall into several categories: some of the individuals escaped during the failed coup attempt on November 26, while others have either completed their jail terms, paid fines, or were released based on court orders.

Furthermore, 51 names were identified as never having been in custody, and 9 names were duplicated.

This statement aims to address any confusion regardingthe status of the individuals listed for release.
