The Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone has handed over five motorcycles to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to strengthen bilateral law enforcement cooperation and support the operations of the CID’s China Desk.

The donation aligns with the CID’s establishment of five China Desks across the country and aims to address mobility challenges faced by officers, particularly during fieldwork in remote and hard-to-reach areas.

Alliue Jalloh, Head of the Criminal Investigations Department, expressed deep appreciation to the Chinese Embassy for its continued support. He said the motorcycles would significantly enhance the department’s ability to efficiently handle cases involving Chinese nationals while improving security operations in locations with limited access.

In its remarks, the Chinese Embassy commended the CID China Desk for its effective work since its creation, noting its key role in resolving cases related to Chinese citizens and providing reliable security for Chinese individuals engaged in business, work, and other activities across Sierra Leone.

The Embassy described the China Desk as an important bridge in strengthening cooperation and friendship between the two nations.

The Embassy further encouraged the CID China Desk to continue leveraging its capacity to maintain a safe and conducive environment for Chinese citizens living or traveling in Sierra Leone and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting deeper bilateral exchanges and collaboration across various sectors.
