Residents of Hill Side Road in Freetown are living in fear of a potential landslide following recent construction work in the area.

Mustapha Dumbuya, also known as Ezekiel, has raised the alarm over a significant ground cut caused by the CSE Road Construction Company. According to Dumbuya, the excavation has compromised the stability of the slope, creating a high risk of a landslide.

“I urgently bring to your attention the critical situation developing at the Hill Side Road, where a significant ground cut has occurred following recent construction work by the CSE Road Construction Company.

“This development poses a severe threat to the safety and well-being of residents living in the houses situated atop the hill.

“The stability of the slope has been compromised, creating a potential landslide risk that endangers not only the vehicles or pedestrians but also the lives of the people residing in this area.”

The concerned citizen is urging the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) and other relevant authorities to swiftly assess the situation and take necessary measures to prevent a disaster.

“The safety of residents, vehicles, and pedestrians in the area is at stake,” Dumbuya said.
