The Civic Digital Contact Training officially commenced today in Freetown, bringing together government institutions, development partners, and private sector actors in a collaborative effort to strengthen digital civic engagement across Sierra Leone.

The training is jointly organized by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education, the Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Africell, and other development partners.

According to the organizers, the initiative is designed to promote innovation in public communication and service delivery, while empowering citizens to engage more effectively through digital platforms.

The programme reflects Sierra Leone’s broader commitment to harnessing technology for inclusive governance, improved access to information, and enhanced service delivery.

Stakeholders at the event expressed optimism that the training will help build a digitally empowered Sierra Leone, where technology serves as a bridge between government and citizens.
