The Sierra Leone Ministry of Health has on Wednesday, 23th April, 2025 confirmed Fifty Three (53) New MonkeyPox Cases, resulting to an increase of Five Hundred and Thirty (530) confirmed cases, with no new recovery, and a record of Five (5) deaths since it broke out.

The official report further confirmed a total number of One Hundred and Fifty Four (154) recovery since the infectious disease broke out. Currently, there are Three Hundred and Seventy One (371) active cases recorded by the health ministry.

The Ministry, in shedding light on the cases as confirmed in various districts across the country, formalized that the Western Rural currently hosts an increase of Seventy Six (76) cases, and an increase of Four Hundred and Twenty Four (424) cases in the Western Urban.

The official report further confirmed that Bo City maintained a total number of Four (4) confirmed cases, and a total of Seven (7) cases in Bombali. Four (4) cases in Kanema, Two (2) in Moyamba, with an increase of Seven (7) in Port Loko, three (3) in Tonkolili, One (1) in Kambia, and One (1) in Karene.

However, as confirmed in the recent report made by the Ministry, Pujhun district has recorded its first case as one (1) new case has been confirmed in the district. As the recorded, there has been no M-pox cases in Bonthe, Falaba, Kailahun, Kono, and Koinadugu.

With the an overall total of Five Hundred and Thirty (530) cases confirmed, according to the Ministry, Three Hundred and Sixty One (361) are male, and Two Hundred and Fourteen (214) Female.

The report, which was made on the mid day of Wednesday, 23rd April, 2025, admonished the public to call on the free toll number 177 for emergency reports on any MPOX case or cases.
