The Court of Appeal has issued a bench warrant for both surety Isha Baby Mansaray of No. 7 Tucker Drive, Majay Town, and appellant/convict Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray for failing to appear before the court.
The warrant was issued during a hearing where A.J.M Bockarie Esq. represented the State. The matter has been adjourned to Thursday, February 27, 2025.
This development follows the Court of Appeal’s earlier announcement that it would hear Mansaray’s appeal against his 2021 conviction for sexual penetration of a minor on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Law Courts Building in Freetown.
Notices of the hearing had been served to both the State and Mansaray’s legal representatives.
Mansaray, a prominent political figure and leader of the opposition Alliance Democratic Party (ADP), was sentenced to a lengthy prison term after his conviction. His appeal challenges this conviction.
