Prominent Civil Society Organizations, National Consortium has debunked a post making rounds on social media showing their CEO, Edmond Abu Jr. holding a banner with inscriptions calling for the removal of President Julius Maada Bio to save Sierra Leone’s economy.
Setting the records straight, The Consortium stated that the post authored by Gibril Bangura and shared by Kabs Kanu is fake and misrepresents their clear message.
‘’The attention of the Native Consortium CEO has been drawn to one cloned posting by one Gibril Bangura and shared by one Kabs Kanu with the inscription ”June 24, 2023, Maada Bio Must Vacate To Save Sierra Leone And Our Economy! Vote him Out! The Consortium wish to inform the public that this posting is as fake as the authors, it misrepresents our real message,’’ they stated.
Native Consortium noted that the real inscriptions on the banner are calls for President Bio to remove the increased floor tariff by mobile companies in the country.
‘’The CSOs, Teachers, and Pupils staged a protest in Kenema just after the release of our CEO and the actual inscriptions on the banner were ’vacate the floor tariff HE Bio,’’ they noted.
The Consortium further warned people who post such misinformed pictures with such misrepresented messages to desist forthwith or face legal actions.
They further informed the general public that, for the past three weeks, the Director of Communications of the Judiciary has failed to present evidence of the scandalous blackmail made against their CEO.
‘’We however wish to inform the public that it’s more than 3 weeks since we asked the Director of Communications of the Judiciary to provide evidence of the scandalous blackmails he made against Mr Edmond Abu Jr. He has failed to bring any. The public will now stand to judge the kind of Director of Communications we have in the Judiciary,’’ Native Consortium concluded.
