Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister, David Sengeh participated in the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at’s 61st Jalsa Salana Celebrations in Bo.

During the gathering, Sengeh expressed appreciation for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at’s longstanding contributions to national development in Sierra Leone.

Delivering a goodwill message on behalf of President Julius Maada Bio and his government, the Chief Minister extended gratitude to the Jama’at for its continued partnership in nation-building.

The conference, one of the largest annual religious gatherings in the country, brought together more than 22,000 members who assembled in Bo for prayer, learning, and spiritual reflection.

The message focused on the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at’s extensive role in Sierra Leone’s development landscape, noting that the religious group operates over 300 schools and dozens of health centres and implements development projects across the country. These efforts were described as complementing government initiatives aimed at improving education, healthcare, and community welfare.

Reiterating remarks made earlier in the goodwill message, Sengeh said the scale and consistency of the Jama’at’s work reinforce confidence in collaborative development efforts, aligning with the government’s development narrative under the theme #WeAreDelivering.

The conference also recognised the leadership of Alhaji Amir Musa Mewa Esq, who was described as a symbol of exemplary leadership not only within the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at but across the nation, reflecting values of service, unity, and national responsibility.
