The WHO Regional Committee for Africa is the Organization’s decision-making body on health policy in the African Region. It comprises Ministers of Health or their representatives from each of the 47 Member States in the Region.
The Minister of Health and Sanitation, Dr. Austin Demby has been elected as the Vice Chairperson for the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Committee for Africa.
Dr. Demby’s election took place at the RC73 Session in Botswana making him the first person to be elected to that position in the organization.
