The Court of Sierra Leone has granted bail to Karamoh Kabba, Diana Konomanyi, Femi Claudius Cole and other opposition politicians that were arrested few weeks ago.
Sierra Leone police arrested Karamoh Kabba, Diana Konomanyi, Femi Claudius Cole and the others after criticizing the ongoing Mid-Term Census. On videos that went viral, some of the opposition politicians spoke against the census and informed their supporters not to participate.
Before their arrest, the Government of Sierra Leone passed a law that anyone caught inciting the public about the census will be arrested. Their actions were seen as incitement and misleading the public. This led to their arrest.
After appearing court today, they were granted Bail.
