Mrs. Finda Findosia Fraser, Director General of the Sierra Leone Parliament, has successfully completed the UK Parliamentary Study Programme (UKPSP) 2024, held from October 28 to November 2 at the UK Parliament in London.
Organized by the Inter-parliamentary Relations Office (IPRO) of the House of Commons, the program aimed to enhance the skills of senior parliamentary officials in key areas such as parliamentary procedures, scrutiny, and outreach.
The hybrid program, which ran from January to November 2024, included five monthly virtual sessions and a week-long in-person visit. Participants from eight countries, including Sierra Leone, engaged in sessions on the workings of the UK Parliament and improving parliamentary culture.
Mrs. Fraser contributed by presenting on “The Cultural Practices of the Sierra Leone Parliament,” facilitating cross-cultural dialogue with representatives from countries like Australia, Canada, and Germany.
The program concluded with a certificate ceremony, where Mrs. Fraser was awarded a certificate in procedural and corporate parliamentary issues.
Her participation strengthened professional ties between the Sierra Leone Parliament and its international counterparts, showcasing the country’s commitment to global parliamentary cooperation.
The IPRO and both Houses of Parliament commended the participants for their engagement, making the UKPSP 2024 a significant success and a milestone in Mrs. Fraser’s career.
