The East End Artists Union (EAU) mourns the loss of its beloved President, widely celebrated as Master Ripo, whose legacy leaves a lasting impact on the artistic community.
Master Ripo, also referred to by colleagues as Prezo Abubakarr G Bak Kamara, was a respected figure in Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry and a strong advocate for the East End artistic community. Under his leadership, the Union grew into a unifying body for upcoming and established talents, giving a platform to voices that shaped the cultural landscape.
In a statement, the EAU described him as an “icon whose leadership and dedication to the Union and the artistic community will never be forgotten,” while extending condolences to his family, friends, and fellow artists.
Tributes have since poured in from entertainers, fans, and community members who remember Master Ripo not only for his leadership but also for his commitment to empowering the creative sector. Many described his passing as “a great loss to the East End and the nation’s arts industry.”
Funeral arrangements are yet to be officially announced, but the Union has pledged to honor his legacy and continue the work he passionately championed.
