The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) will tomorrow, Saturday 1 July 2023 announce the pending results for the recently concluded multi-tier elections.

The results will be announced at the Auditorium of the Freetown International Conference Centre, Aberdeen.

On the 24th of June 2023, ECSL conducted the Presidential, Parliamentary and Local Council Elections simultaneously in Sierra Leone.

On 26 June, the National Returning Officer, Mohamed Komneh announced results for the Presidential election. Julius Maada Bio was re-elected with 56.17 percent vote cast, and his top rival Samura Kamara, of the All People’s Congress (APC), came second with 41.16 percent. However, Kamara was quick to reject the results, citing a lack of transparency in the tabulation of the election results. Local and International observers also expressed concerns over the credibility of the election results announced by ECsL.

Meanwhile, the Chief Electoral Commissioner has stated that any citizen who lawfully voted may submit challenges to the Supreme Court within seven days of the election results being declared.

The results represent polling stations results processed in each district, cleared by the ECSL Result Management systems at Regional Tally Centres in Freetown, Bo, Kenema, Makeni, and Port Loko.

On Saturday, ECSL is expected to announced the results for Mayor/district chairperson, members of parliament and councilors.

ECSL is sole body that is responsible for managing, tabulating, and announcing election outcomes.
