The Electoral Commission Of Sierra Leone together with the UN women and UNDP Sierra Leone have engaged women and other persons concerned on matters and validation of the Pre-Election Gender Assessment draft report on the 16th March, 2023 at the Atlantic Hotel in Freetown.

The meeting was to finalize the 2022 Pre-Election Gender Assessment of Sierra Leone’s Electoral and Political arrangements report and propose strategies to promote women’s participation.

The support, according to them came from EU, UNDP, IRLEMB, UN Women, and the Government of Sierra Leone.

In assessing and improving the conditions of women in Sierra Leone, the UNDP noted that one of the most important factors in lowering poverty and increasing prosperity for women is access to finance.
