Prominent Civil Society activist Edmond Abu has reacted to some set of civil Society Organizations calling for Presidential appointments.

In his disclaimer he affirmed that to congratulate President Bio is good but disagrees that CSOs Should not use the platform as an opportunity to beg for jobs.

He cautioned that if some CSO’s members want to lobby for Jobs to the President, they should do that like others but they should not use the name of Civil Society Organisations for selfish gains to arm-twist the president.

In recent times, a group of Civil Society Organisations pays a courtesy call on the President at State House as he emerged victorious in the June 24th multitier elections.
One of the representatives states “Mr President we have academic doctors, engineers, legal barristers, accountants, agriculturists, and many more within the Civil Society arena of Sierra Leone. If you appoint them to governance portfolios, the reality of operations will truly come to fruition.”

In a telephone interview with Sierraloaded, Edmond Abu described the said  CSO’s as shameless and do not represent CSO’s  but their personal interests.

The news of the request made by the Civil Society Organisations representative  was received with mixed feelings from members of the Public who recognized the importance of maintaining an independent civil society that held government accountable for their actions.
