The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has announced power interruptions in several areas of Freetown following major technical faults at the Far East Distribution Network linked to Wellington Power Station (PSS).
According to a public notice released on Monday, the affected locations include:
Old Wharf – Wellington: Power grounded due to a burnt load cable from the transformer to the LV panel.
Dixson Farm – Grafton Old Road: Supply disrupted after two MV poles collapsed because of earth faults on the Kola Tree feeder.
Bottle Field STEG Package – Kola Tree, Calaba Town: Opened off-load due to a burnt load cable on the main breaker.
PMTC – Upper New York Garage (3E Tap Pole-Mounted Substation): Grounded following vandalization of the substation.
EDSA confirmed that its maintenance team has been deployed and work is ongoing to restore electricity as soon as possible.
The authority apologized for the inconvenience caused and expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and cooperation during the restoration process.
