The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has announced a temporary shutdown of its 33KV transmission line to allow for inspection and casting works along the south-side boundary.
In a public notice issued on 19 February 2026, the Authority stated that the planned outage is necessary to ensure compliance with safety requirements and standard operating procedures during the maintenance exercise.

• Date: Friday, 20 February 2026
• Time: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Affected Areas
The temporary shutdown will affect the following communities:
Roportee, Kuntoloh, Clay Factory, Brima Lane, Calabatown, Wellington Industrial Zone, the entire Wellington community, Jui, Mongegba, Waterloo, and other far-east communities.
EDSA assured customers in the affected areas that electricity supply will be restored upon completion of the maintenance works, which are scheduled to conclude at 6:00 PM on the same day.
The Authority apologized for the inconvenience the temporary outage may cause and thanked customers for their patience and cooperation as efforts continue to improve service delivery and infrastructure reliability.
