Eight year old boy Jonathan Sam of looking town community at Sami Three (3) section in Tikonkon Chiefdom Bo District has reportedly drowned in an uncovered dug out pit in the aforementioned community.
The chief of looking town community at Sami three section in Bo, Chief Mustapha Jambla told this medium that similar drownings has occurred at least three times within three consecutive weeks in the afore said community. According to chief Jambla in the bid to addressing the reported drownings in his community, he has set up a team to be going out and about the said community explaining the dangers of leaving dug out pits uncovered but the people he said are very stubborn and as a result at least three kids have now drowned in the said community within three consecutive weeks a situation he described as very unfortunate.
Chief Mustapha Jambala maintained that the activities for the creation of the uncovered dug out pit at the Looking Town Community Sami
three section in Bo Cannot be connected with the unavailability of source of water and sand mining for gardening and construction purposes, respectively,.
He intimated this medium that the paramount chief of Tinkonkon Chiefdom Bo District, PC Joseph Kangbai Makavoray has made it a bye-law for any sand mining , a license has to be obtained failing to be do so; legal actions will be taken against defaults.
