Edleen B. Elba, the Managing Director of ELBA GROUP, has asserted that her organization has played a pivotal role in bolstering Sierra Leone’s economy.
Elba emphasized that ELBA GROUP’s involvement has not only directly benefited the economy but has also facilitated growth for other businesses and organizations, further enriching the nation’s economic landscape.
Detailing the group’s upcoming ventures, Elba shared that they are rolling out new ideas for both short-term and long-term projects. These projects aim to generate more employment opportunities and bring innovative solutions for product and service development by leveraging relevant technology. The focus remains on catering to the needs and aspirations of the country’s youth.
Moreover, ELBA GROUP prides itself on fostering a nurturing environment for talent development. “We extend learning opportunities to our staff, recent college graduates, and interns. Additionally, we offer accreditation to students from various vocational institutes and colleges, guiding them towards fruitful employment and entrepreneurial ventures,” Elba explained.
Reiterating the importance of national responsibility, Elba encouraged service providers to support the National Revenue Authority (NRA) by duly paying their GST. She also advocated for business owners to remit taxes on behalf of their employees, emphasizing the consequential boost this provides to the economy. Furthermore, she underscored ELBA GROUP’s commitment to safeguarding employee interests and prioritizing their welfare.
In her concluding remarks, Elba made an appeal to the government, emphasizing the need for creating more conducive environments for Medium and Small-Scale businesses. She highlighted their crucial role, noting that they account for over 80% of the private sector’s employment-generating businesses.
