During the Ministry of Information weekly press briefing, Minister of Information and Civic Education Chernor Bah addressed public misconceptions surrounding the Election Reforms Committee.
Minister Bah emphatically clarified that the committee’s purpose is not to investigate the 2023 General Election for a potential re-run but rather to scrutinize past elections and make recommendations to enhance electoral systems and processes.
Highlighting the committee’s role, Minister Bah stressed its commitment to bringing forth constructive recommendations that will contribute to the improvement of the electoral landscape. He underscored that the next scheduled election is in 2028, emphasizing that the time to challenge the 2023 election, as stipulated by the 1991 constitution, has elapsed.
This clarification aims to dispel any confusion regarding the Election Reforms Committee’s objectives and to reassure the public that its focus is on the betterment of future electoral processes, rather than revisiting the 2023 election results.

Let us don’t put the cart before the horse the committee is still on their mandate it is the committee that should give us that information not someone who is not part of the committee.
May I remind you that according to resolution 8 of the signed bintumani agreement clearly state”Any recommendation made by the tripartite committee is Actionable and implementable”.So my point of argument is that if the committee finds out that Maada Bio did not score the required threshold as enshrined in the 1991 constitution.

Mr Bah are you part of the committee, what we need a re-run of election, clearly evidence that show that the election is not reflect the will of the people re-run of election is needed for proper democracy
