Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh announced on Twitter that significant progress has been made in the Tripartite Committee negotiations, with agreements reached on 33 out of 86 raised issues. In total, 169 recommendations have been agreed upon.
This update follows the Chief Minister’s participation in an expanded Tripartite Committee meeting alongside APC Leader Dr. Samura Kamara, held a day before the initial six-month mandate for the committee ends.
“As Chief Negotiators of the Agreement for National Unity, APC’s Leader @samurakamara201 and I joined an expanded Tripartite Committee meeting this evening to review progress a day before the initial six-month mandate ends. 86 issues raised, and 169 recommendations so far agreed,” Chief Minister Sengeh tweeted.
Responding to a follower, Martin Edmond Micheal, on Twitter, Chief Minister Sengeh confirmed, “They have agreed on 33 issues out of 86. The rest they’ll get to.”
The committee’s final recommendations are anticipated to have a significant impact on Sierra Leone’s political landscape, particularly in the realm of electoral reforms.
