The former President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma may be allowed to leave Sierra Leone today on medical grounds, Sierraloaded has learnt.
This follows an application by his Lawyers seeking a review of his bail conditions to enable him to travel out of Sierra Leone for medical attention for ninety days.
If the High Court order is granted, former President Koroma who was charged for his alleged involvement in the 26th November failed attempted coup will likely not appear in Court for the continuation of his trial.
Sierraloaded reported on Monday that the former President Koroma has been battling with hypertension, diabetes and cardiac problems. But over the last two months since his alleged involvement in a coup, his health condition has worsened.
A medical doctor’s report indicates that former President Ernest Bai Koroma has been having severe chest pain lately and requires a medical procedure that cannot be done in Sierra Leone. According to the report, the former president risks having a severe heart attack if he is not immediately treated for the said ailments.
The application matter comes up for hearing today Wednesday, January 17th at the High Court before Appeals Court Judge, Hon. Justice S.O. Taylor.
However, the outcome of the bail application is not yet known.
He will remain in the country
This is a ploy to duge justice. Posterity and Thomas Clarkson prayers will one day prevail on those betraying this Mama Salone
God saved this country
The play
The country is like a playstation
Lord 🙏 let your will be done
Today I regret being born in Sierra Leone, if he get away with this! then what is the faith of the others?
The other coup plotters may also go for medical check-ups
EBK is not interested to go anywherecok
Please let him be treated here, because he was having all opportunity to developed such facility in the country for the poor citizens to benefit and he failed, and now they want to take him out of the country, what about the unprevilage who may not afford to go abroad, so he or she may perish of that illness, if that be the case let him not go so he will know that he does nothing for the country,
We the people of Sierra Leone still love him for his legacy
The citizens of this country need total peace with the hardship… Our country is like a stage for performance.
Sierra Leoneans let’s pray for our beloved nation.
Think my friends!!!! What if the former president’s medical condition is indeed true and God forbid, his condition worsens, or he ends up getting a fatal heart attack due to a refusal of his request for medical travel? How would such a scenario help Sierra Leone? We the people frown on any callous action at a time when we are struggling with our nation being so divided. Let’s put the hate, tribal sentiments, and regionalism aside and work together to make our country proud. Besides, I believe former president Bai Koroma is an honorable man enough to return after his treatment to prove his innocence. Please, Mr. Government, do the right thing!!!
This is speculation, why not wait until the judge makes a decision on the application? Try to restrain yourselves from reporting, based only an application, untill a decision is made by the court. This kind of speculative journalism is dangerous, as gives unwarranted hope to his supporters, and those who want to see him tried angry. You can do better, and you should!
EBK really messed up! I am so disappointed on him, I never expected such from him. Why is he afraid of facing judgement if he is truly innocent? This is a big slap in our country, he suppose to go no where he should be treated here and he should face the court of law to prove his innocence. Shame oh shame smh!
Their is an iota of daubt of such allegations and the court haven’t yet proven any guelty against EBK. Let’s EBK go for his check-up so as not to have a blame to the Paopa government. A word from the wise…….
If EBK leaves the country, the government needs to release all those who were arrested for the November 26th alleged failed coups. If not, the government is not fear of the citizens.
