Reports reaching this press have intimated that plans are underway for a peaceful and safe return of former President Ernest Bai Koroma to his home country, Sierra Leone after a protracted stay in Abuja, Nigeria on medical grounds.
According to reliable sources, discussions regarding the former president’s return have begun by West African heads of State, headed by the Nigeria President, Bola Tinubu.
If everything goes on as planned, sources say, former President Koroma will be accompanied back home in October, this year by both former and present West Africa Heads of States.
It could be recalled that the former President had during a meeting with a delegation from the All Peoples Congress (APC) in Abuja on Monday, 10th February 2025 announced his plans to return home after an extended period of medical treatment in Nigeria.
Koroma, who has been on medical leave since January 2024, expressed his gratitude for the improvement in his health, which has enabled his decision to return to Sierra Leone. The former President, who led the APC during his tenure, shared his intentions with the visiting delegation, marking the second time he has publicly stated his desire to come back home.
In another development, President Koroma was recently among his friends and peers in Nigeria during the launch of President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida’s first book, ‘A Journey In Service’.
Also in attendance were, Presidents Yakubu Gowan, Olusengun Obasanjo, Abdul-Salam Abubakarr, Goodluck Jonathan, Muhammed Buharie was represented by his former Transport Minister, Ghana’s immediate past president, William Nana Addo Akufor-Addo, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Nigerian Vice Presidents Atiku Abubakarr, and Yemi Osinbajo, among others.
The event also attracted governors and senators, business tycoons like Aliko Dangote, Prince Arthur Eze, Tony Elumelu, among others.
Justice must be seen to be done. EBK has already been indicted. So, he must be allowed to go through the judicial process. If eventually found guilty, he should do the time. However, if acquitted, he must be able to sue the AG and the GOSL.

We have leaders in this country but we do not have living constitution which is supposed to be governing us. You can hear a police officer or other law apparatus ignorantly saying they always work with the president in power instead of the constitution. What a shame!

We are not agains his coming. But we are curious about the stressing court against him and all what we as good and credible justification members of this country. We need a cleaner and clearly justice to be honestly sarvers in such unthinking habit not to repeat itself and go court Free. So for some of us we want to seeing him seriously service to this Court of ours to tried him and gives us a clearer outcome of the justice. That’s will have a great exple of our laws . That now on is above the laws of our nation.
We need justice to serve in our country sierra Leones which we have the majority of some of us to have faith in our justice system of equations. We need justice be honestly because our country security office has died and other stuff of course government officials do die including citizens lost their belongs.
So we to see these big deal behind Ball too.much we can say we stand for justice nothing else right 👍.
