In his brief statement, while welcoming his brother and colleague, Ambassador Yongawo underscored the importance of Ethiopia being the seat of the African Union and the friendly relations between the two friendly African countries – Sierra Leone and Ethiopia.
Ambassador Yongawo also shared President Bio’s Five Priority Areas:: Food self-sufficiency, Human Capital Development, Youth Employment, and Revamping the Public Service.
Ambassador Ugala was overwhelmed by the reception and wasted no time congratulating Sierra Leone for being elected to the Non-permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council; adding that Sierra Leone under President Bio merits such achievement.
The distinguished diplomats, among many other issues, discussed ways to promote a shared African Union drive for peace and development, trade, culture and strategies to strengthen relations with their host country, seeking credible investors and business partners for their respective countries in the Russian Federation.
The two heads of Missions agreed on further collaboration and were convinced of deeper cooperation between the two friendly countries, which they believed would be in the best interest of the citizens of both Sierra Leone and Ethiopia.
