In a recent interview circulating on social media, Gibril Bangura, the ex-husband of Hawanatu Konneh, firmly denied allegations that he was responsible for leaking a nude video of Konneh.
Bangura, who now lives overseas, addressed the issue publicly for the first time, expressing his dismay over the situation and his intent to clear his name.
Bangura explained that upon seeing the video on social media, he immediately reached out to Konneh’s mother to offer his support and informed her he had no involvement in the video’s distribution.
According to Bangura, Konneh’s mother advised him to look into the source of the leak, prompting him to seek help from a friend knowledgeable in computer technology based in Ohio. Bangura claims he informed Konneh’s mother before sharing the video with his friend, in an attempt to trace its origin.
Throughout the interview, Bangura repeatedly emphasized that he bears no ill will toward Konneh, describing their relationship as one from the past, and insisted they have never had any sexual or marital ties. He denied accusations that they share a child, calling Konneh’s claims on the matter false. He stressed that he is now focused on his personal life and his faith, stating that “all the bad things” he did are behind him.
Bangura expressed frustration over Konneh’s accusations, stating that she has tarnished his reputation by alleging he shared the video. He noted that he had tried to assist her in identifying the source of the leak, but after the allegations surfaced, his family became concerned.
“All the lies that Hawanatu is sharing are not in my nature. It was for those lies that I separated myself from her,” Bangura asserted, adding that he has no intention of engaging in a social media dispute with Konneh.
Bangura also addressed the claims that they were married, refuting the notion that they ever had a formal union. He acknowledged they were once in a relationship, but clarified that both have since moved on and are married to other people.
When questioned about a potential dispute between them over the video, Bangura denied ever using threats or having any such argument. He maintained that the last time they communicated, he advised her to avoid using abusive language on social media, and that their conversation had nothing to do with any video.
In conclusion, Bangura reiterated his stance that he had no role in the video’s circulation, stating, “She will not be able to tarnish my name.” He also disclosed that his current priority is his health, and he has no interest in further engaging with Konneh’s allegations.
