Sierra Leone’s First Lady Fatima Bio has on the 19th October, 2023 been honoured with honorary doctorate degree by the university of Sierra Leone.

She was recently bestowed with the distinguished honorary Doctor of Letters degree by the University of Sierra Leone and the certificate was officially approved on April 14, 2023, during an auspicious convocation ceremony held at the FBC campus.

It is reported that the ceremony took place at her workplace, where the degree was formally handed over following its confirmation, authentication, and printing by the University.

The first lady conveyed her heartfelt gratitude to the University of Sierra Leone for bestowing such a remarkable recognition upon her, adding that, the degree is also testament to her dedication and efforts towards improving the lives of women and children in Sierra Leone.

She acknowledged and appreciated the selfless support of her husband, President Julius Maada Bio, whose encouragement and backing have been instrumental in her endeavours for the long period of time as well extending her gratitude to the University and its Council for recognizing her contributions.
