Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, has departed Freetown this morning for Istanbul, Türkiye, where she is set to attend the International Forum on Climate Change and Zero Waste.
Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Bio, who is an Eminent Member of the United Nations Zero Waste Advisory Board, will join global leaders, environmental advocates, and policymakers to discuss sustainable solutions for climate resilience and effective waste management.
The First Lady has continued to make Sierra Leone proud through her global advocacy for environmental sustainability and her tireless commitment to social causes, including her flagship Hands Off Our Girls campaign, as well as initiatives promoting women’s empowerment and youth development.
Her participation in the Istanbul forum underscores Sierra Leone’s growing leadership role in global climate action and reaffirms the country’s commitment to building a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future for all.
