As President of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development, Fatima Bio’s journey is seen as great achievement as she now leads, and represents the whole African Continent, and not just Sierra Leone.

In a public statement before her departure, First Lady Bio posted on her official Facebook page expressing pride and a sense of responsibility in her new position.

“I leave with pride for myself and my country knowing that I have been given the responsibility to not only represent my country Sierra Leone, or West Africa, but the whole of Africa as the President of OAFLAD,” she said.

First Lady Fatima Bio also stated on her Facebook post that, being the president of OAFLAD, she aims to strengthen her efforts in fighting against Gender Based Violence across Africa.

“My focus is simple: end gender-based violence in Africa,” she said, vowing to serve her country well. “I promise to serve my continent well, so help me, Allah.”

The Antalya Diplomacy Forum is a worldwide platform where policymakers, leaders, and stakeholders discuss complex international issues. First Lady Fatima Bio will engage with international partners and advocate for strengthened partnership to address gender-based violence and enhance development initiatives across Africa.
