First Lady Fatima Maada Bio, in her inaugural meeting as President of the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), convened a preparatory session via Zoom with the OAFLAD Secretariat, outlining her vision for the organization’s future.

The meeting, attended by Vice President Ana Dias Lourenço, First Lady of Angola, Executive Secretary Dr. Nardos Berhanu, and senior representatives from the national teams of Angola and Sierra Leone, served as a platform for First Lady Bio to articulate her strategic direction for OAFLAD.

A key focus of her vision is to expand OAFLAD’s reach beyond the African continent, enhancing its global influence. She also emphasized the importance of a seamless leadership transition, ensuring the organization’s continued effectiveness.

“During our session, I outlined our way forward by focusing on expanding the influence of OAFLAD, enhancing our representation beyond Africa, and ensuring a smooth transition of power,” First Lady Bio stated.

First Lady Bio expressed her confidence that through collaborative efforts, OAFLAD will achieve significant growth and deliver lasting impact on development initiatives.

“This meeting was a pivotal moment that reinforced our shared commitment to a strategic vision for OAFLAD, and I am confident that our collective resolve will propel our organisation to new heights, fostering collaboration and driving impactful change across and beyond our continent,” she said.
