First Lady Fatima Maada Bio, who also serves as President of the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), participated in the Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition Summit held at the White House.
The high-level summit, initiated by Melania Trump, brought together leaders from over 40 countries and international technology partners to discuss the future of innovation and its global impact.

Dr. Bio was among eight distinguished speakers invited to address the rapid emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI). In her remarks, she highlighted both the vast opportunities AI presents and the critical responsibilities associated with its integration into modern societies.
Speaking in her dual capacity as First Lady of Sierra Leone and OAFLAD President, she called for the development of inclusive, ethical, and people-centred AI systems. She emphasised that such systems must prioritise equity and ensure no one is left behind, particularly women and young people across Africa.

The summit underscored the urgent need for collective global action to ensure technological advancement benefits humanity. Participants stressed leveraging innovation to empower youth, strengthen education systems, and safeguard societal values.
Dr. Bio further urged stakeholders to adopt a balanced approach to technology one that drives progress while protecting communities and inspiring future generations.
