The First Lady of Sierra Leone, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Rev. Smart K. Senesie, National Chaplain of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), following news of his sudden passing.

Describing Rev. Senesie’s death as “shocking and deeply painful,” Dr. Bio highlighted his unwavering commitment and faithful service to the SLPP over the years. During her visit to the bereaved family’s residence along Lumley–Regent Road, she signed the Book of Condolence in honour of the late clergyman and party stalwart.

Rev. Senesie was widely respected within the SLPP and beyond for his spiritual leadership, humility, and dedication to national unity. As National Chaplain, he provided moral guidance, prayers, and counsel to party members, particularly during key political and national moments.

The First Lady expressed heartfelt sympathy to the family, loved ones, and the broader SLPP fraternity, praying for strength and comfort in their time of mourning. She called on Almighty Allah to grant the late chaplain eternal rest.

Tributes have continued to pour in from party officials, religious leaders, and members of the public, all highlighting Rev. Senesie’s legacy of service, faith, and commitment to peace and unity.

Dr. Bio’s visit underscores the high regard in which the late National Chaplain was held and reflects the SLPP leadership’s solidarity with the bereaved family during this period of grief. Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family in due course.
