First Lady, Fatima Bio has on the 27th December 2023 brought Christmas joy to hospitalised children in the nation’s capital Freetown.
She graced patients at Ola During Children’s Hospital, 34 military hospital, and Aberdeen Women’s Centre, personally delivering brightly wrapped gift packs brimming with joy. These gifts were more than just presents; they were tangible expressions of love and care, ensuring that even within the confines of a hospital bed, the spirit of Christmas could flourish.
Her message reads; Today, I embarked on my usual special Christmas mission—bringing festive cheer to children receiving care at various hospitals in Freetown.
My first stop was to the patients at Ola During and PCMH Children’s Hospital, then 34 military hospital, and finally the Aberdeen Women’s Centre.
I personally delivered gift packs to all the patience in the hospitals. These gifts were more than just presents; they were tangible expressions of my love and care, ensuring that even within the confines of a hospital bed, the spirit of Christmas could flourish.
The children’s faces lit up with smiles as I interact with them, exchanging heartfelt words of encouragement and offering warm cuddles.
The Hands Off Our Girls initiative under the Maada and Fatima Bio foundation served as a poignant reminder that even in the midst of illness, the human spirit endures and finds solace in kindness and compassion.
The act of bringing Christmas magic to hospitalized children exemplifies the true essence of the season: spreading love, hope, and the unwavering belief that even amidst challenges, joy can prevail.
