On Thursday, June 6th, 2024, 22-year-old Doreen Yavana Sonnielly, a student of Fourah Bay College, 20-year-old James Fayia Foyah, also a student, 27-year-old James Brima Foyah, known as Jimmy, a footballer, 54-year-old Yatta Jusu, a businesswoman, and 21-year-old Mammy Momoh, also known as Grace, a student, appeared before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown. They faced three charges: conspiracy to commit a felony, housebreaking, and larceny under Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act 1916, as well as accessory after the fact.

According to the particulars of offense, on diverse dates between 1st August 2023 to 6th March 2024, the accused persons at Kaimachendeh Drive, SS Camp, Freetown, conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit housebreaking and larceny.

It reads on count two that on the same date and place the accused persons broke and entered into the by house of one Priscilla Jusu Sesay and stole therein the sum of eight hundred and fifty thousand United States Dollars ($850,000) equivalent to seventeen million, eight hundred and twenty-four thousand, and seventy-five new Leones(NLe.17,824,075) property of Priscilla Jusu Sesay, Massah Lovette Karimu and Bishop Lucy Anthony, whilst in the custody of Priscilla Jusu Sesay. Count tree reads that on the same date and place the accused persons aid -receive, harboured and assisted Doreen Yavana Sunnielly and James Foyah, knowing same to have committed a felony and intending to help them escape punishment

No plea was taken when the charges were read and explained to them.

Testifying in Court, the Priscilla Jusu Sesay -Prosecution witness one (PW1) said the first accused is her niece, second accused her nephew, the third accused her sister, whiles the fourth accused is recognized in the matter and the fifth accused is the first accused boyfriend.

The Lead Defense Counsel, CI Williams applied for bail, but Magistrate Santigie Bangura having looked at the evidence remanded all accused in custody until the 11th June 2024.
