Sierra Leone Police has received electrical equipment worth Le400,000 from Fawaz Building Materials to support the completion of the Freetown East Regional Headquarters on Ross Road.

The presentation took place at the office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Williams Fayia Sellu. The building project has been ongoing for over ten years and was initially started by former Regional Commander for Freetown East, AIG Memunatu Konteh-Jalloh, in collaboration with community stakeholders.

Upon assuming leadership of the SLP, the IGP made police infrastructure a priority, with the Ross Road headquarters being one of the key projects. When Fawaz Haj, owner of FBM, asked how he could assist, the IGP recommended support for the completion of the building. Electrical materials were later delivered for installation.

The IGP welcomed the support and encouraged other businesspeople and philanthropists to also get involved. He said Haj would be invited to the official opening of the facility once completed.

Orlando Williams, representing FBM during the presentation, explained that the donation followed an inspection of the project site. He added that FBM is known across Sierra Leone for providing building materials.

The presentation marked continued progress in completing the regional police headquarters aimed at improving working conditions for officers.
