The Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF), has concluded a Two-day capacity building workshop with staff at the Budget Bureau in Freetown.

The training which was hosted at the Occasions Resort at Lakka on Friday, 31st March and Saturday, 1st April 2023 was focused on budget data analysis and reporting on Child Responsive Budgeting.

It attracted participants from the Budget Bureau at the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Planning and other MDAs working on children-related issues. Relevant ideas as to their work and manner in which things will be handled were presented at the training for them to be well capacitated and fully prepared for the work at hand.

According to Ministry, the workshop was built with the aim to widen as well as strengthening the understanding of budget data analysis and reporting to informed policy decisions and mainstreaming children budgeting in the national budget.

MOF added that this will help the participant greatly to have an accurate and well-balanced information storing in terms of budgeting at different work levels.
