Sierra Leone’s First Lady has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the people of Kenema following what she described as an overwhelming show of support for the government and the leadership of her husband, President Julius Maada Bio.

She reaffirmed her unwavering support for President Bio, pledging to continue standing by his side while championing the empowerment of women and girls across Sierra Leone. According to her, empowering women and girls remains central to building a stronger, more inclusive society.

In a message shared after a large public turnout in the district, the First Lady said the massive attendance was a clear indication of the people’s appreciation for the work of the current administration and their readiness to see the government continue its development agenda.

The overwhelming turnout was a clear indication that your appreciation for my husband’s work is immense,” she stated, noting that the enthusiasm shown by residents reflects confidence in the government’s vision for national progress.

The First Lady also called on citizens to rise above political differences and work collectively for the good of the nation. She urged Sierra Leoneans to embrace unity, shared values, and national identity, emphasizing that sustainable development can only be achieved through cooperation and mutual respect.

Let us keep supporting this government and work together towards a prosperous Sierra Leone, putting aside politics and embracing our shared identity as one country, one people,” she said.

She further affirmed the importance of creating opportunities that encourage citizens to build their futures at home, stressing that development efforts should result in a country where people can thrive and choose to stay rather than seek opportunities elsewhere.
