The All Peoples Congress (APC) has recently appointed five senior party members to the Interim Transitional Governance Committee (ITGC) to handle all outstanding membership issues in advance of the party’s upcoming National Delegates’ Conference (NDC), which is scheduled to take place on January 28, 2023.

The creation of the new subcommittee was one of the most recent modifications to the contempt judgement made by Justice Adrian Fisher of the High Court following charges of contempt of court brought against Alfred Peter Conteh, the chairman of the ITGC.

Alfred Peter Conteh, the chairman of the APC-ITGC, recently told this press that the new team will deal with all other categories of unresolved membership concerns within the party, save those that will be approved at the upcoming NDC. He proceeded by saying that the party now has a variety of unresolved membership difficulties, such as individuals who have applied, paid their dues, and are simply awaiting approval at the next NDC. He claims that although some people are looking for new membership, others who have already paid for membership have not yet received their membership cards.

The ITGC Chairman added that the newly selected five-person committee will also be responsible for authenticating every name on the list of 64,000 members that was given to the ITGC by the departing national administration of the party.

According to Alfred Peter Conteh, the new team will have up to twenty days to investigate, confirm, and fix all outstanding membership-related concerns, including those relating to new member registration.

In the meantime, a large number of irate recently enrolled APC members have praised the ITGC and the PPRC for coming up with such a concept, noting that it will assist to improve the party’s unity and also make sure that eligible party members are not disenfranchised.

The choice to settle all membership disputes prior to the convention, according to one Alimamy Kargbo from the Goderich community, was a crucial one. He added that it will enable more candidates to participate in the upcoming internal lower-level elections and national delegates’ convention.
