Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Timothy Musa Kabba, has arrived at the King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to attend the Extraordinary Session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM).

The Extraordinary Session scheduled for the 5th of March 2024 will be attended by Foreign Ministers and representatives from the OIC Member States.

The Session is called in light of the war between Israel and Palestine in the Gaza Strip, including the attacks in Rafah. The Session will also discuss the implementation of the decisions reached during the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit in November 2023.

The Foreign Minister will update efforts that have been undertaken by Sierra Leone to continue support to the OIC in finding a lasting solution to the Palestine-Israel conflict.

As a member of the OIC, Sierra Leone remains committed to the two-states solution, calling for the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine.
