President Bio has been applauded by a former Ghanaian diplomat and civil servant who currently serve as a leading contributor on peace and security in Africa at the United Nations, Martha Ama A. Pobee.

This came by as a complement to the various gender acts and other related issues on women which have been heightened by the president for the safety of the women in the country. The Gender Equality and Women Empowerment (GEWE) Act has been very attractive to many international practitioners in branding Sierra Leone as one of the few countries that have taken that bold step to actualize that dream.

In her statement, she expressed satisfaction over the engagement with the president which was focused at the concrete ways to support peace consolidation, social cohesion, dialogue, democracy and development at different levels.

She expressed thanks to the foreign affairs minister, David John Francis for a warm welcome and that she planned to roll out discussions and fruitful exchange with not only the president but with other senior government officials to support regional and national efforts to consolidate peace and democracy.
