Former EDSA Driver Hail Sacking of Director General, Calls for Corruption Investigation

A viral social media video dated Thursday, May 22, 2025, shows former EDSA driver Emmanuel Kamara celebrating the removal of the agency’s Director General and Deputy, while calling for a deeper probe into their assets.

In the video, Kamara expressed gratitude to President Bio, stating, “A very big thank you to the President. This is what it should be—not just making decisions from the top but also listening to junior staff. Then, there will be great changes.”

Kamara, who worked at EDSA from 2019 to 2025, claimed he endured humiliation during his tenure. “A lot of things have happened at EDSA,” he said. “I am happy with the step you took by sacking the Director General and Deputy, but sacking them is not enough.”

He urged the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to investigate their assets, alleging financial misconduct. “ACC should properly check their businesses. At EDSA, we’ve heard about millions of Leones going missing. If they investigate properly, they will find them guilty of corruption,” Kamara asserted.

Additionally, he claimed he has yet to receive his benefits since his dismissal and accused the former officials of embezzling EDSA funds. “They have stolen from EDSA and invested the money. I am willing to step forward and even show President Bio some of the properties they’ve bought,” he declared.
