The management of Freetown International Airport, through the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority (SLCAA), on Thursday, March 6, 2025, completed a technical training program for sixty-five (65) aerodrome firefighting personnel in basic and structural firefighting, in compliance with SLCAR Part 14A standards.
According to the organizers, the training will enhance response capabilities, equipment proficiency, physical fitness, communication, and teamwork, strengthening safety at the Aerodrome.
The purpose of the training is to meet the training requirement of SLCAR Part 14A, also be able to respond to any structural fire within the Aerodrome
The Aerodrome Fire Fighting training has many includes benefits to the participants which include, refreshing the old firefighter on the role and responsibilities.

It Keeps them updated on the available equipment and tools, and also enhance their physical and medical fitness.

The Aerodrome Fire Fighting training is part of Ms. Musayeroh Barrie’s leadership initiative for the Freetown international Airport to meet the international Aviation Standards.
