The Fullah Tribal Head in the Western Area, Alhaji Mohamed Sajor Jalloh, together with his deputy, Alhaji Lamrana Sow, and a cross section of the Fullah Community, on Sunday, 20th October, 2024 organized a farewell ceremony for the newly appointed Ambassador Extra-Ordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Mohammed Sheriff Barrie.

The farewell ceremony was organized for Ambassador Mohammed S. Barrie at the Hill Station residence of Alhaji Demba Barrie, the fourth in the Fullah Tribal Administration in the Western Area, after the top envoy had taken leave of His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio at State House on Friday.

In his statement, the Fullah Tribal Head, Alhaji Mohammed Sajor Jalloh also known as Chief Med-Saj congratulated Ambassador Mohammed S. Barrie on his appointment. Chief Med-Saj, on behalf of his people, wished the top Sierra Leonean envoy to the Kingdom success in his new role in serving the interest of Sierra Leone and in fulfilling the mandate of the President.

He urged Ambassador Barrie not to forget his root and to ensure that he seeks the interest and welfare of all Sierra Leoneans living in his diplomatic districts.

On his part, Ambassador Mohammed S Barrie commended the Fullah chieftaincy and elders’ council for the farewell ceremony. He commended His Excellency President Bio for choosing him among the many other competent Sierra Leoneans to serve.

“I am truly grateful to you all for this wonderful farewell ceremony. I assure you all that with the support of my team, I will execute the mandate of His Excellency the President of Sierra Leone. We will seek the interest of Sierra Leone, and I hereby pledge on behalf of the team that we will represent our country well to further strengthen the ties between the Republic of Sierra Leone and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Syria, the Sultanate of Oman and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at all times,” he assured.
