The Station Manager for Galaxy Radio in Lungi, Michael Kargbo was reported dead on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

His colleague journalists have said that his death has left a deep void in the broadcasting community, where he was known as a dedicated leader and a passionate advocate for quality radio programming.

Kargbo, whose tenure at both stations spanned several years, was a pivotal figure in their growth. Under his leadership, Galaxy Radio FM 106.1 became a prominent voice in the Sierra Leonean media landscape, gaining a loyal audience for their diverse and engaging content.

The media community in Sierra Leone said Kargbo could be remembered for his innovative approach to station management and broadcasting made him a respected figure in the industry, admired not only for his technical expertise but also for his ability to motivate and inspire his team.
