The new German Ambassador to Sierra Leone, His Excellency Jens Kraus-Massé has today, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Francis Kai-Kai, at his Tower Hill office in Freetown.
Ambassador Kraus-Messé, in a brief statement thanked the Minister for the warm reception, highlighting critical development interventions the German government continues to support in Sierra Leone.
He said that he was looking forward to continue strengthening their long-standing bilateral relationship based on common values, democracy, the rule of law and human rights in favour of all Sierra Leoneans.
They both discussed the excellent relations that exist between Germany and Sierra Leone and the development cooperation, namely in youth employment, vocational training and agriculture.
Minister Kai-Kai took the opportunity to thank the German government for their continued support to Sierra Leone, especially in youth development.
Minister Kai-Kai also gave an overview of the Medium-Term National Development Plan (2019-2023), as well as initiatives the New Direction government currently implements to ensure that Sierra Leone continues to have a modern, diversified, efficient and financially sustainable economy.
His Excellency Jens Kraus-Massé has been the German Ambassador to Haiti since July 2020. Previously, he was, among other things, Consul General at the German embassy in Kiev, and from 2013 until 2016, Deputy Consul General at the Consulate General in Chengdu, a City in China. He studied law at the Freie Universität Berlin and joined the Foreign Service in 1991.
