Gilpin Foundation for Debates and Public Speaking in Schools [WEGIPP] at the Benevolent Islamic Senior Secondary School in Yele and the Government Senior Secondary School Koyeima, Bo District, which he founded in 2008.
The Foundation was extended to the two schools on Friday 10th February 2023.
The unveiling at Yele was done in collaboration with the old Boys Association of the Benevolent Islamic School.
As he gave the Keynote address before unveiling the Foundation, the founder and CEO of the Project Amb. Dr Ekundayo Gilpin admonished the school pupils not to shy away from Public Speaking.
He further stated that being able to speak persuasively is a vital skill, and not just for politicians, business leaders and teachers. He added that at some point in their lives, they will have to persuade others.
The pupils of the Benevolent Islamic Secondary School unveiled the portrait of Amb Dr. Gilpin inscribed on the wall of their school Podium. The pupils further engaged in a debate competition with the topic Boy and Girl Education; which one is better?
Pupils of the Government Senior Secondary School in Koyeima also expressed their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Gilpin for the unveiling of the foundation as it will help to boost their confidence whenever they have a platform to speak to in front of a large audience.
Public speaking is still a challenge in Sierra Leone as it is often overlooked by many schools . However, the CEO is extending the foundation because he beleives that education is a human right with immense power that brings sustainable human reforms.
