Good News to Sierra Leone as Guinea Prepares to Open Its Border Soon
Following the military takeover in Guinea, Colonel Dumbuya ordered for the closure of all Guinea borders. In effect, this led to the closure of Guinea’s side of the Sierra Leone-Guinea border.
Information reaching Sierraloaded indicates that Guinea is opening its border with Sierra Leone on 20th September, 2021.
The closure of the Guinean border affects Sierra Leoneans who use the Gbalamuya-Pamalap route for trade. It also prevents people from going into or coming out of Guinea.
Though border security may be tightened after the opening of border, Sierra Leoneans welcome the news of the opening of the border.
