The Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has responded swiftly to the arrest of a vehicle belonging to its Embassy in Conakry, Guinea, along with the detention of its driver and another occupant on suspicion of drug trafficking.
The vehicle was reportedly impounded by Guinean authorities on January 13, 2025, after substances suspected to be cocaine were found.
In response to this alarming development, the Sierra Leonean government has taken immediate action by recalling its Ambassador to Guinea, Mr. Alimamy Bangura, to Freetown.
