The Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Internal Affairs has called on families and relatives of civilians who lost their lives during August 10 violent protests to come to the Connaught Hospital Mortuary on Monday 22nd August 2022 at 10:00 am to identify the corpses of their family members for postmortem.

The Ministry made this announcement in a press statement issued today, Friday 19 August 2022.

“Following the insurrection on Wednesday 10th August 2022, by certain individuals, resulting in the loss of lives of both Civilians and Police officers in some parts of the Country, the Ministry wishes to inform the families and relatives of the deceased civilians who lost their lives during the riot to come to the Connaught Hospital Mortuary on Monday 22nd August 2022 at 10:00 am to identify the corpses of their family members for postmortem,” the statement reads.

“The Ministry further wishes to inform all family members and relatives to come along with identification documents bearing details of their deceased relatives for clarification,” it adds.
