The Ministry of Trade and Industry, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and Aviation, has announced new retail prices for cement in Sierra Leone.
The revised prices, reflecting transportation costs, have been set for both imported cement and LEOCEM 32.5R, following consultations with the Sierra Leone Drivers Union and the Sierra Leone Transport Owners Association.
The new prices for a 50kg bag of cement vary across the country’s districts. Prices for imported cement range from SLL 170.00 to SLL 190.00, while the prices for LEOCEM 32.5R range from SLL 155.00 to SLL 175.00, depending on the district.
The Ministry also mentioned that these prices will be reviewed when there are changes in the cost-driving factors. The public and private sector are urged to comply with these updated prices to ensure market consistency and fair access to cement across the country.
The wholesale prices are not mentioned here like previously.
