The Sierra Leone Local Content Agency and CTC Mining Sierra Leone have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) aimed at increasing the involvement of Sierra Leoneans in the company’s operations.

The agreement, formalized during a meeting between senior officials of the Agency and representatives of CTC Mining SL, seeks to promote the inclusion of local businesses in the company’s supply chain and create opportunities for national economic participation.

In a brief statement, the Director General of the Sierra Leone Local Content Agency, Mr. Fodeba Daboh, highlighted that the engagement is designed to ensure more Sierra Leoneans benefit directly from mining activities through employment, procurement opportunities, and service delivery.

Mr. Daboh emphasized that local content is more than a regulatory requirement; it is a practical tool for building local capacity, supporting indigenous enterprises, and advancing sustainable economic growth.

Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director of CTC Mining SL, Dr. Koroma expressed appreciation for the collaboration and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to adhering to local content requirements. He assured the Agency that the company is ready to work closely to ensure the effective implementation of the agreement.

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing gratitude for the partnership, while stakeholders expressed confidence that the MOU will generate meaningful opportunities for local suppliers and strengthen economic participation across Sierra Leone.
